Gem L Baskerville is a twenty-three year old poet, spoken word
Gem Baskerville is a contemporary poet from Oxford, England. Their poetry touches on topics such as mental health, the education system and gender politics. They are currently experimenting with the short form and how it can distill a moment into as little words as possible. She lives in a dream world of her own creation so be prepared for over-romanticisation, sepia-toned memories and a heavy dose of nostalgia.
She competed with Bath Spa University’s UniSlam team and came third place. She was also shortlisted for the Creative Futures Writer’s Award in 2021. She graduated with a Upper Second Class Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Master of Arts (with Merit) in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University.
