Aiysha Humphreys (they/them)

Aiysha Humphreys is a Member of the Sword Forge Collective 2022 – 2023.

BIOGRAPHY

Aiysha is a poet and artist from Cornwall, living in Bristol. They explore the heavy topics of mental illness, loss, queer and mixed heritage identity and oranges, whilst bringing humour and lightness to their work. Their poetry couples a gentleness with the articulate fury of a generation, equally at home at a DIY gig as it is at any major spoken word event.

Aiysha is a voice from the trembling darkness; a soft enchantment into a hard-lined world. As one of Bristol’s best loved rising stars, Aiysha’s shares parts of themselves in all it’s mess and glory. They have pressed their boots to the top of Bristol’s slam scene and performed at UK festivals Shindig and the Great Estate.

TESTIMONIALS

Unassuming up until the moment they reach the stage, Aiysha’s poetry couples a gentleness with the articulate fury of a generation, equally at home at a DIY gig as it is at any major spoken word event.
